Welcome to your first assignment
as a journalist. In the Task and Process sections your assignment will be detailed
and explained. Read them carefully and then refer to the lists below for
reference and guidance.
Ancient World -This is the famous list
compiled by the ancient Greeks and is what most people think of as simply the
"Seven Wonders of the World". Of these, only the Pyramids still exist
although the ruins of the Lighthouse have been found in Alexandria's harbour,
and there are plans to rebuild the Colossus of Rhodes. The one problem with this
list is that it is limited to the Mediterraian world that the Greeks would have
been familiar with.
Natural World - This list has been
compiled by professionals in the field of geography, archeology, architecture
and history. It is by no means a complete list, but the seven have been voted as
the top seven wonders.
Ten Man-Made - This is a series of a
non official consensus and is open to interpretation. You can review the list
and make alterations where you feel they are justified.
